In general, house is slower. Techno is faster and more bleepy.

EDM is the blanket term. Dance is a term used for all types of dance, be it electronic or acoustic. I’m glad that you have recognized that there is in fact a difference between house and techno. To answer your question, there is no universally accepted method of classification between any of the EDM genres. The ONLY proper way to tell the difference is by experience in listening. However, the some tracks use elements from different genres, so it is ultimately best to listen to whole tracks.
